Proper seating by bus passengers is essential to passenger safety. Parental reminders to students about how important their staying seated properly on the bus is a tremendous help to our drivers and their own safety. Fortunately bus collisions are statistically rare but they do take place. Bus design is based on students with their bottoms in the bottom of the seat, back against the back of the seat and facing forward. I remind riders to "ride the bus like your life depends on it, because it does.”
