Bus Evacuation Drills
Twice yearly all districts are required to practice bus evacuations. Our evacuation drills took place October 9th at the Riley County grade school. All drivers participated in a review of emergency evacuation procedures, the many emergency exits, and when to use them. This year because of Covid-19 the evacuation drill was a front door evacuation rather than a rear door evacuation due to rear door evacuations requiring contact as students are assisted out the back door. The no-contact front door was used this semester. Another requirement of the drill is to make sure all students know how to open the service (Front) door in case the driver is unable to perform that function. All students and drivers completed the drill successfully.
