Do you need assistance with filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)?
Please join us on Wednesday, January 15, from 6-7pm, in the RCHS Library for the RCHS FAFSA Workshop. A K-State financial aid representative will be here to assist us with the process. You are welcome, regardless of your technical school or university.
This event is open to seniors and parents that have created their Studentaid.gov (FAFSA ID) account and are ready to fill out the actual FAFSA form.

*Please make sure both the contributing parent and the student have each created their own FAFSA ID Account. If you have not done so yet please go to this link for more information on how to set up the account. This needs to be done a week before the FAFSA Workshop in case there are errors or issues that can be fixed.

*Please make sure the senior brings a charged laptop to this event.

Why fill out the FAFSA? Depending on parent/student income, the student may qualify for federal grants and loans. Most colleges and some scholarships require/highly recommend you fill out the FAFSA each year a student attends college.

Riley County Falcon basketball capped off the night with gains Jefferson West with wins. Varsity Girls won 52-21 and the Boys won 63-55. Way to go Falcons!
**Attention Falcon Fans** The wrestling tournament at Rossville for this Saturday, 1/11/25, has been canceled. At this time, they will not be rescheduling this event.
**UPDATE** - Riley County Schools will remain on the 2 hour delay schedule Friday, January 10th. The buildings will open at 9:40am and school will begin at 10:00am. This is for RCGS, RCHS, and RCCC. Coaches will be in communication about activities.

Congratulations to the RCHS Student of the Month for December, Madison Hammond.
Madison was gone at the end of December, so we are announcing her as the December Student of the Month today.
Madison, an 11th-grader, has a cumulative GPA of 3.84 and is currently a member of the FFA and Key Club.

Madison is consistently going above and beyond for our school. She has been instrumental in planning various events. She has taken on leadership roles in FFA and StuCo on top of multiple extracurriculars, like track and high school rodeo while balancing and staying on top of her schoolwork. She is a great role model for all in our school!

MS boys basketball patrons:
The MS boys game from this last Monday 1/6 at St. Marys has been officially rescheduled for Tuesday 1/28 at St. Marys. 8th grade starts at 4:30pm at St. Marys High School. Go Falcons!

Reminder from Coach Farwell. MS boys basketball practice is tomorrow the 30th, Tuesday 31st, and Thursday the 2nd. 8-10 AM in the middle school gym.

The Falcon Basketball teams capped off the evening and semester with a girls varsity victory 47-14 while the boys fell to Perry Lecompton.
RCHS Boys wrestling team competed in the Marion County Duals tournament. They were 2-1 in their pool and ended with 6th place overall.
RCHS girls wrestling team was in action tonight at Abilene.
The Falcon Scholars Bowl team competed at Wabaunsee this evening. The team went 1-7 but had a couple of close matches.
The December Glavan Ford Student-Athlete of the Month is Kaden Gutsch. Kaden is the son of Curtis and Erin Gutsch; he has a GPA of 3.95 and participates in Cross Country, Wrestling, and Track teams. He is also a member of the Student Council and the chess team. Kaden plans to attend Concordia University to wrestle.
Here is what his coaches had to say: “Kaden, is the perfect example of what a student-athlete is! He is focused on his grades and his sport. He is disciplined, hardworking, and dedicated. His leadership in the wrestling room is unprecedented. He pushes everyone in the room to be the best version of themselves. He has a high standard, and he makes everyone around him rise to that standard.”
“Kaden is a fantastic example of what you want a student-athlete to be. He takes his studies seriously and is an absolute competitor in anything he does. He was always one of the hardest workers in the room and continually found ways to encourage everyone else on the team. He was a true leader and would put anyone's needs above his own. A coach always hopes to have someone like him on their team and I was lucky enough for this to be the case for me. I cannot say enough great things about who Kaden is as a representation of Riley County High School."
