In the second round of sub-state, RCHS Varsity Girls won 39-18 over Gypsum-Southeast of Saline. Way to go Falcons!
The February’s Glavan Ford Student-Athlete of the Month is Trent Webber. Trent is the son of Dustin and Jennifer Webber; he has a GPA of 3.98 and participates on the Football, Basketball, and Baseball teams. Trent is a SADD, STUCO, Jazz, Rhythm & Blues, TRI-M, Theater, and Key Club member. Trent plans to attend college to study computer engineering. Here is what his coach had to say: “Trent, this season, has been an outstanding vocal leader for the team. Even when games don't go his way in the scoring category, he always brings a positive attitude. He is also an outstanding student in the classroom.” Jacob Claycomb, RCHS Boys Basketball Coach.
Congratulations to the RCHS Student of the Month for February, Madden Watts.
Madden, a 12th Grader, has a cumulative GPA of 3.55 and is currently a Key Club, FFA, NHS, Tri-M, SADD, FCA, Theater, and Science Club member. She is also a member of the Marching Band, Volleyball, Basketball, and Softball teams.
Here is what Miss Netterman had to say:
“Madden always goes out of her way to help her friends, peers, and faculty. She embodies the ideals of RCHS and is a great role model! I love having her in my class and being her sponsor. She is engaged in multiple clubs/activities and gives her heart to each!”

Falcon Fans, with inclement weather forecast tomorrow, the start time of the 2nd round of sub-state basketball between RCHS and Gypsum/Southeast of Saline has been moved to 5 p.m. Gate will open at 4 p.m. Go Falcons!
Congratulations to the Riley County Chess Team for their 4th place finish out of 18 schools at their tournament in Wichita today. They will compete at the State Chess Tournament March 15th in Emporia. Way to go Falcons!
Congratulations to the RCHS Boys and Girls Wrestling teams! In a tough 321A tournament their season comes to a close. Congrats to all State Qualifiers!
Garison Easterberg, Kaden Gutsch, Nathan Hammond, and Makayla Truesdale are all advancing to day 2 of the State Wrestling Tournament. Aryana DeLeon finished her season today. Wrestling starts at 9am on Saturday.
RCHS Varsity Boys basketball finish their season following a loss to Haven in the first round of sub-state play. Final score Haven 62 and Riley County 43. Good effort Falcons.

In the first round of sub-state basketball, Riley County Girls basketball wins over the Belle Plaines Dragons with a score of 52-33! Way to go Falcons!
Congratulations and good luck to RCHS wrestlers this weekend at State in Hays! Students sent the wrestlers on their way this morning and wished them the best. Go Falcons!!!
Just a reminder that all post-season entry fees into games are $8.00 for adults and $6.00 for students. These entry prices are decided on by the KSHSAA and not by the high schools who are hosting the event. No league passes or school passes will be accepted.

RCHS qualified 3 wrestlers for State competition next week in Hays. Garrison Easterberg (113 lbs) 2nd place, Kaden Gutsch (144 lbs) 2nd place, and Nathan Hammond (175 lbs) 2nd place. Good luck to them at State!
Congratulations to the RCHS Chess Team for their 1st Place finish at the Most Pure Heart of Mary Chess Tournament in Topeka today. Drake Otto clinched the team title for the RC team over Washburn Rural in the 48th move of his last match. Way to go Falcons!
RCHS basketball faced off against Rossville this evening. It was Senior Night. The varsity girls and boys fell to the bulldogs in tough games.
RCHS FBLA students took a trip to KSU to the Explore Accounting Event. Students were able to hear from industry professionals as well as a student panel today!
