The Riley County FFA Meats Judging team took 3rd place out of 19 teams. Hunter Sherman placed 5th, Easton Blair placed 17th, Karodie Wendland placed 19th, Trista Warnken placed 25th and Sierra McCabria placed 46th. Great job Falcons!

Nissa Olson and Brandi Gocken with the K-State Collegiate Cattlewomen presented a beef nutrition lesson to the Introduction to Agriculture classes at Riley County High School. They had an interactive lesson sharing how ruminant animals use different feed ingredients for their dietary needs.

Our RCMS leadership class made a trip over to the Community Food Basket this week, donating all items from our annual food drive. We were able to donate just under 2000 items this year, and will help a lot of families. We thank all the families who donated to this cause this year, our class winner for the most donations was Ms. Wernholm's 5th grade class. Way to go Riley County!

Riley County FFA members participated in the Grass and Grain Farm Show. Members helped with vendor booths and attended leadership sessions. The FFA Chapter also won $150 for the Chapter in the daily drawing for all attending FFA Chapters from the Grass and Grain newspaper.

The RC Chess Team traveled to Topeka yesterday to compete in the Jay Shideler Chess Tournament. Brett Laurie went 4-1-1 (4.5 points) and finished in 4th place. and Simon Baumann went 3-3 (3 points) and finished in 18th place. Way to go Falcons!
