As part of Music In Our Schools Month, RCHS had 3 Tri-M members volunteer at the Ogden Friendship House sorting and labeling donated food items. This is the first of several projects that Tri-M will be completing during March to develop leadership in our musicians and support music in our schools at Riley County!


RCHS FFA members traveled to Junction City High School to compete in the North Central District Discussion Meet this week. Jacob Wendland took 1st place and will move on to State in May. Madison Hammond finished in 7th place. As a team RCHS finished in 2nd place!




The RCHS Choir held their annual 7th-12th Grade Spring Concert this evening. Thank you to both Choirs for a wonderful performance!



Another fantastic performance tonight from our middle school choir, and the high school vocal groups as well. Great work from our students and their teacher Mrs. Kern!

Congratulations to the Beloit Trojans and the Silver Lake Eagles on winning the 3A Sub-State Tournament at Riley County today! Good Luck to both teams next week at State! A huge thank you to all Riley County Staff and Community Members for helping run a successful tournament. Falcon Proud!


The RCHS Chess Team finished in 3rd place today at the Lawrence Tournament. The Falcons will compete next weekend in the State Chess Meet at Emporia State University. Good Luck Falcons!

The RCHS FBLA Club recently travelled to Emporia State for Career Day! They were great hosts and the kids explored a variety of careers!#stingersup!

Congratulations to the RCHS Student of the Month for February, Martin Loecker!
Martin, a 10th Grader, has a cumulative GPA of 4.0 and is currently a member of the Band, FFA, and Trap Team. He is also a member of the Football and Track teams.
Here is what Ms. Netterman had to say about Martin: “Martin is a joy to have in class! He makes his classmates laugh but knows when to be serious. He always tries his best and is willing to help out others without being asked to. He brings energy to our assignments and classroom, and he has a maturity level that is excellent for his age!”
Mrs. Lloyd added, "Who doesn’t love Marty? He is reliable, works hard, and makes those around him happier." Mrs. Krohn also said, "Martin is always a leader and comes to class with great energy! He is eager to learn and willing to participate in any class activity. He is a positive role model for others in our school and is just a joy to be around!" Congratulations Martin!

The RCHS Girls Basketball Team competed at Rossville tonight. The Falcons fall to the Dawgs 28-38 in the opening round of the Sub-State Tournament. RCHS will host the Semi-Final games on Thursday and Friday at 6 and 7:30pm. Sub-State Finals on Saturday will be at 5 and 6:30pm!




USD 378 Board of Education will hold a special meeting on Friday, March 1, 2024 at 3:30pm in the RCHS Library. The agenda for the meeting is available on the website under Documents>District>Board of Education.

The RCHS Boys Basketball Team competed at Rossville tonight. The Falcons fall to the Dawgs 37-50 in the opening round of the Sub-State Tournament. The RCHS Girls Team will travel to Rossville tomorrow night, tip-off at 7pm. Good Luck Falcons!




Congratulations to RCHS Junior Kaden Gutsch! Kaden finished in 4th place today in the 144lb weight class at the 3-2-1A State Wrestling Tournament. Kaden finished his season with an overall record of 39-8. Congratulations Kaden and Coaches on a great season!

RCHS Junior Kaden Gutsch won two matches today on the backside of the bracket at the 3-2-1A State Wrestling Tournament in Salina. This puts Kaden as a top 6 finalist in the 144lb weight class for tomorrow’s Semi-Final Rounds. He will compete around 9am. Good Luck Kaden!

In honor of National FFA Week, RCHS FFA members had a busy week! On Monday they hosted a Community Breakfast and on Tuesday a Faculty Breakfast. On Wednesday they held their annual FFA Chapter Lunch and on Thursday hosted a trivia competition. Members Jacob Wendland and Keaton Kirmer also represented FFA on Thursday at Representative Tracey Mann’s
Town Hall meeting in Leonardville. Today FFA members held a petting zoo for RCGS students! Thank you FFA for a great week!

Members of the RCHS FBLA group traveled to KSU today. Students participated in Explore Day! Explore Day is an Accounting experience for high school students to practice and learn about Accounting!



RCHS hosted Social Emotional Presentations this morning. Our SRO, Officer Sheldon, presented on Traffic Stops, Ticketing, and Teen Driving Restrictions. Students also got to participate with and learn from the THINKFAST Interactive SAFE Teen Driving group. Thank you to the RCHS SADD group for helping sponsor this event!
