A quick reminder: ***MS Cheer patrons/parents*** Tonight is our last night for "TRY-ITS" in the middle school gym from 3:30-5:30. Again, this is not a mandatory event, only an event to help girls to try cheer before they commit. You do not have to attend to be on the cheer squad next year. Our cheer coach will be present to work with all cheerleaders and all interested same as Monday. Please note, if you want to "stunt" with the squad, you're required to have a physical on file with the office and Mr. Gordon. All students who had a physical this last year are good through the summer on their current physical, but new incoming 6th graders will need a physical from May 1st or later in order to stunt.

Congratulations to the RCHS Student of the Month for May, Meagan Laurie! Meagan, a Sophomore, has a cumulative GPA of 4.0. She is a member of Key Club, Culture Club, Pep Club, SADD, FCA, Music Theatre and FCCLA. She is also a member of the band, volleyball team, and track team. Here is what Mrs. Steiner had to say about Meagan: “Meagan always comes in with a smile on her face and ready to work. She is respectful and enjoyable to be around. Meagan is a quiet leader in the classroom. Riley County is a better place because of Meagan!” Mrs. Lloyd also added: “If Meagan has ever had a bad day, she doesn’t show it. She stays committed to what needs to be done, and does it in a positive manner. She is always prepared and encourages others to do the same. I love having her in class!” Congratulations Meagan!

***Attention JH Track and Field patrons*** Rain is going to continue throughout the day. Those student athletes who are still involved with track for our rescheduled-date tomorrow will NOT be having practice tonight due to the weather. A reminder, the remaining team participating tomorrow will leave tomorrow at 11:10 from the grade school, with the first make up event starting at 1:00 tomorrow in Rossville. With 5 events left, this should only take about an hour to an hour and a half max to finish up, and busses should return to school around dismissal or a little after.

***Attention 6th-7th grade parents*** All students interested in middle school cheer next year should have brought home a pamplet for our RCMS Cheer "Try-ITS" next week. This is an opportunity for interested students to try cheer, and work together with the coach and current cheerleaders to see if they like cheer and want to participate next year. Try-ITS are next week on Monday the 15th and Wednesday the 17th from 3:30-5:30 in the middle school gym. Our cheer coach will be present to work with all cheerleaders and all interested. Please note, if you want to "stunt" with the squad, you're required to have a physical on file with the office and Mr. Gordon.
