Good afternoon,
We are officially canceling the MS boys football scrimmage for Fall Preview tomorrow due to the extreme heat and safety of our students and patrons. The forecasted temperature before the heat index is anywhere from 101-103* at 6-7:00.
Volleyball will still scrimmage tomorrow at 4:30 for MS, and 5:30 for HS in the North gym at the high school. High school football's Jamboree at Concordia Friday night is still TBD.
Our football boys will practice tomorrow morning again, and Friday morning as well. Monday we will open practice to the public for anyone who would like to attend is welcome. Cheer will not attend Monday, and will have their first performance and cheer at the first football game next Thursday. Coach Maynard will communicate more details for football, and Coach Anderson will communicate more details for cheer. .

Chemistry is off to a great start at RCHS! Students experimented with the combustion of sugar with the reaction of a gummy bear and potassium chlorate today!

On Thursday, August 17th we will welcome all incoming freshmen and new students to Riley County High School! Students will go through an orientation day where they will meet staff, attend classes, and explore extracurricular opportunities. Normal bus routes will run. School day will be 8:05-3:22.


A reminder to all RCHS students interested in taking courses from MATC this year. A Representative from MATC will be at RCHS on Wednesday from 6 to 7pm in the cafeteria to help students enroll and answer any questions. Be sure to stop by and get your paperwork completed!

RCHS Cheer attended UCA Camp this week! The team earned 1st place in Game Day Competition, 2nd Place in Camp Routine, and 1st in Use of Jumps. We had 5 cheerleaders earn honors: Emili Brewer, Marley Harmison, Konner Hauser, Sadie Lambert, and Bri Restrepo!

The RCHS FFA Officer Team took a retreat to Omaha this week to kickoff the year. The team went to a College World Series game, the Omaha Zoo, and other activities.They planned many events in preparation for the upcoming school year and bonded as a team!
