Riley County Middle School students participated in an Ugly Sweater Contest today. The winners were: Drew Shirley - Tackiest, Aubrey Reasoner - Funniest, and Avery Higgins and Gracie Scofield - Most Festive.



Congratulations to Decembers Student of the Month, Ames Burton! Ames, a Junior, has earned a 3.5 cumulative GPA during her high school career. She is very involved in clubs and activities at RCHS: Art Club, Basketball, Culture Club, FCA, FCCLA, Pep Club, SADD, Science Club, Track, and Volleyball.

Last nights 43-35 Lady Falcon victory over Clay Center was a great game. Pacing the Falcon offense: Sarah Thomson with 18 & Ames Burton with 9. It was special recognizing Coach Oliver for his 600th win (earned on 12-6) in front of a well attended home crowd! Congratulations Coach Oliver!


Both boys and girls basketball teams find themselves in the top 10 of KBCA’s class 3A rankings! Good luck to both as we host Clay Center at home tonight. Girls varsity tip-off set for 6:15 pm with the boys varsity to follow. Go Falcons!


Riley County Junior High Girls Basketball Tournament games for this evening have been postponed. Our 7th and 8th grade teams will each be playing for 5th place at 5pm on Wednesday, December 18th.

What an awesome concert last night. Our students performed at a high level! Thank you Mrs Seidler and Mrs Lloyd for all your efforts and talent. Thank you also to Dr Milt Allen, Dr Carl Rowles, and Mr Steve Lueth from Kansas Wesleyan for assisting our students with our concert. Also, the alumni and friends choir was a great way to finish the evening.

Our Key Club officers were invited to and presented at the Kiwanis Meeting in Manhattan this week. Pictured are Garrett Harmison, Ashtyn Kulp, Cassidy Ummel, Ethan Bohnenblust, and Sarah Thomson.
Also presenting were Camden Foltz and Kyndra Kahle on their experience while attending Key Leader camp.


A reception was held Monday evening prior to the Board of Education meeting to honor the board’s out-going members Jared Larson and Randy O’Boyle. The USD 378 Riley County Schools District wants to thank Jared and Randy for the dedication and service they have given to the education and development of our students and the commitment to the staff at USD 378.


Coach Harold Oliver received a Congratulations Certificate Monday night at the Board meeting for his 600th win!
